For anyone who may be interested, I actually found the simplest formula for arriving at the designated code on the yellow box. I cannot take credit for this. I found it on another site after Googling for almost twenty minutes LOL I think this one involves the least amount of math:

Hey, Vedith! Hopefully this will help.
You should have a hint that says "O=On, X=Off". Jot that down. If you have used the screwdriver on the short cabinet with the hamster picture and moved it aside it should have exposed a little hatch on the wall toward the baseboard. Open it up and note the line configurations along the edge. Think of those as positions on a tic-tac-toe board. For example, a square would be the center position on the board.
Going in order, from left to right, jot down the shapes and then compare those to your tic-tac-toe board and write down, in order, X or O. You'll then use that code to turn the desk lamp on and off. Once you get it correctly, the light will flash and it will drop an item for you out of the hole in the base.

Hey, Doener. Hope this helps!
For more in-depth see my post #144. It explains how to solve the light puzzle. All you need is the tic-tac-toe board which you can view on the skylights using your binoculars.
You'll use that later. After playing a little handheld game and beating the high score of 6,000, little ducks will appear on the handheld game screen. That shows you the correct sequence for turning the duck key and opening the box.
Slide your shape stencil around the letters on the side of the desk until there is only one spot where the letters are perfectly aligned in those shapes. Make note of the shape and the letter inside the shape and the order they go in. Use that with the grid on the note showing the shapes and letters to open the box with the square buttons on it.
Comes later. It's in the hallway.
