my checkerboard too small - just 4 by 4 .. read clue/hint. that requires 5 by 5. no quaver on mine.

have recipe and items for it, did 8 space code, have 9 of 9 and noted missing items on it, have pestle, ..

Evidently web search needed. Hate that. Think I'll pass on this one after getting this far.

I have

salpetre, paper, lit match, pestle, coal (cool), ball, sulphur, gun

I have read a few things on what I'm supposed to do but it isn't working.
I can't

put paper into fire to get recipe, can't get the burner to work, can't use the match

Scissors: The note sheet is separated into 4 sections. Each section

has 1/8 notes, those are the squares you click on the checkerboard.

I think it was 4th, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd and 4th - top row to bottom row.
