Finally out, with a bit of help as usual from spoilers, I hope I can complete a game on my own one day, its not for the want of trying......

1. Right corner of roll top desk, 2. Behind safe in corner, 3. Use trowel on safe-trowel is in the radiator by the safe, 4. Under the TV table, 5. Inside trash can on right side of desk, 6. behind letter on typewriter-bottom right, 7. Second drawer on right of desk-move chair, 8. Corner of red rug, 9. In lamp on the desk, 10. Beside trash can to the right on the bookshelf. Then click the typewriter and paper. You should be able to get out.

Then just try a bit left or right of it, you'll see the trowel, don't worry
