You start in your hotel room. Move the painting over the bed to get the first gold block. While you are here, you can make note of the silk curtains.
Head down, then right to talk to Sylvia, your contact. Once you're up to speed on your mission, head left, then down to exit the hotel. Head right to downtown Cairo, remembering to pick up the coin that is on the sidewalk, then head down. You'll meet three boys, one of whom (Awi) likes chewing gum. Head back up, then up once more where you'll find yourself in a street market. Near the top left of the screen is a sign with three numbers on it. It would be in your best interest to jot this down.
Heading left takes you to a makeshift candy shop. Talk to the girl. Kanika will ask what her brother Awi's favorite candy is. You should know this answer.
Return to the alleyway where you met the three boys. Giving Awi the gum will reveal a box that can't be opened yet. Continue down, then right. Turn the dials to match the number you saw earlier.
Head left and pick up the empty pouch. Return to downtown Cairo. Heading up twice will take you to a temple where a second gold block is located, however you cannot retrieve it just yet. Heading up and then right from downtown Cairo takes you to the Egyptian Museum, but you have no reason to go here at the moment. Instead, head right to find a camel. Talking to the man on the camel will reveal that he'll give you a ride if you pay him. Give him the coin.
Accepting the man's ride will leave you in the middle of the desert. Try heading up. A sandstorm will keep you from heading up until you can find suitable cover for your head. Heading right leads to a dead end at the moment. Instead, use your empty pouch to get some sand from the desert and return to your hotel room. Once there, take the silk curtain. Return to downtown Cairo, then head up twice to the temple. Place the bag of sand on the pedestal and take the gold block. Now go back to the camel and get another ride to the desert.
With the curtain in your inventory, you can now head up to an Ancient Temple. At the front of the temple, head left. Check out the wall to get a prompt about a moon god. Head up. There are four panels that can be pressed on the wall. Once they've all been pressed, a statue will be revealed. Take the statue and look at it in your inventory. Again, you will be prompted, this time about Ra. Return to your hotel and to Sylvia. Asking her about the moon god will reveal the name of the moon god, Thoth. Asking about Ra will reveal a little bit about the statue in your possession, but not much. Return to the alleyway where you found the box. Enter the name of the moon god.
Take the artifact from the case. Return to the ancient temple. Head up twice and place the artifact on the statue. Take the third gold block. Head down and then right. Place the three gold blocks into the three holes. Take the key. Head left, then down, then right. You'll find a staff wedged into a statue. You'll need to press the two circle buttons to free the staff. Take the staff. Head left, down, and right again to get to the Sphynx. Head up three times, then use the key on the gate. Head up three times. Notice the hole to the right of the stairs? Place the staff in the hole. Head up once more, then drag the wall out of the way. Head up. Grab the artifact then return to Sylvia. She'll suggest you take it to the museum where it will be safe. Head to the Egyptian Museum to finish the game.
