Yes, he is writing a fourth because he couldn't cram everything he wanted into 3 books, so the trilogy became a cycle (the name like trilogy for a 4 series instead of 3)
Also, he has a video about it, where Christopher Paolini explains it himself...

But anyway, I am on page 20! Started it today, and only read for 15 minutes, but that part was kinda kreepy.... I LOVE IT!Comment

OMG! I love this book. I bought it the day it came out (Sat 20th September) and I just read it non-stop all weekend.
I can't wait for the 4th book but it may be a while before it comes out, seeing as it was a 2 year gap between book 2 and 3.Comment

I was thinking about reading it all but i'm taking it slow Reading for a couple of minutes each night to keep me busy till at least october 21st

Well I just remember that I will be so bored for a month if I read it right away and also the longer I wait the more I want to read it so it's like a better experience for me I know that sounds weird
