    Right, Greek! According to the rules of the game, though, you should wait until the original poster confirms your answer before posting another question. Just for future reference.

    x=7

    (x^2) / 4=(x^3)-15x

    No problem It's just important that we follow the rules from the first post, so that we don't get a mess here

    It's Crimson's turn

    It's the same as "x squared." Or x times x. Or, if there's a different number after the ^(like x^y) then x multiplied by x y times.

    ....wait, did I confuse you more? How bout an example, just in case...

    If x=2, then x^2 would be 4. x^3 would be 8, and so on.

    What does the ^ mean? I've ever used that in maths before!

    Absolutely correct, Lovelylilyfairy!

    And would your x be 6?

    x=-1/3

    x^2 + 5x = 11x

    Was this one too hard? Should I post another?

    Ah, yes, they both work!

    Mkay, here's a harder one for you!

    (x-9)/(x-2)=(x+3)/(x+1)

    NO! NOT AT ALL! I meant -5. (I think....)

    (And I teach math... I shouldn't have missed that! O'course, we don't learn negatives in 5th grade.... so I have an excuse. )
