It's the same as "x squared." Or x times x. Or, if there's a different number after the ^(like x^y) then x multiplied by x y times.
....wait, did I confuse you more? How bout an example, just in case...
If x=2, then x^2 would be 4. x^3 would be 8, and so on.sigpicComment
