salt pools? mmm no but you are getting close. The water is high in mineral content with one in particular leaving the white deposits you see...its not snow. Swimmers and waders are no longer allowed in them for now. Maybe they got too popular because along with being curative the waters were supposed to make people feel...well...frisky again. This is in a country famous for its baths back to the days of Romans.

They have a very similar feature in Yellowstone National Park, but I don't think thats it because they won't let you climb on those.
