yep well technicly they are called the 17 year cicada because every seventeen years they swarm in my area like this they are so loud that if you stay out too long when they are all talking or whatever you could damage your hearing it gave me headaches for weeks when they got the worst i could hear them through the walls of my house. and they feel awful to step on ad stink when they start to die ,they cover the ground
