ya, and i missed it cuz it was everywhere but the US(its in the news of msn.com) and when it reached the US it had already ended

Because From Earth, the Sun looks to be about the same size as the Moon.
So when the Moon lines up between the Earth and the Sun in a certain way it blocks out the Sun's light.
Eclipses tend to last between 31 seconds and 7 minutes.
