OMB what a cute cat. I am also a real cat person. But sadly we haven't a cat at the moment in our home. We are expected to move soon, so we are waiting for that to happen before we are going to get a cat out of the animal shelter.
Yes, that is really sad. Like OneBun's hubby is alergic for bunnies and she loves bunnies so much. But they have a cute and silly cat. I am really glad that my hubby and I are not allergic for any animals.
dogs stink and slobber and roll in **** and can be really annoying, whereas cats play with you, sleep with you, purr, cuddle with you, come when they're called despite what people think, and can also be very independant so you don't always have to be at home to let them piss outside and stuff.. they're much better. i love dogs, but cats are just way better when compared.
Well, you only showed the bad side of dogs, and the good side of cats, so that's not a good comparison, so, I'll just add the good side of dogs, and the bad side of cats.
Dogs (good side)
always come when you get home
always answer when you call them,
if you don't want them to do something, you can simply tell them "no", or "stop" and they'll stop (in this case, you better have taught them that )
you can also sleep with them, I slept with my dog once, and despite of the fact that he peed on my bed (that was yucky, I know ), he was really cute, he just sat next to me on my bed, and let me sleep
you can play with them every time
when they really like you, they even lick your hand (most people don't like when they do it...I just love when they do it)
they never bite you, and when they do, it's just a friendly bite, and they don't even get to hurt you, because it's only to warn you, of course that if you really annoy them, they'll bite you for sure
they can see when you're sad and sit next to you
you can go for a walk with them, and they wont run away from you
they can love you, and you can see that they love you
Cats (bad side)
you can't teach them anything
they're not loyal
though you can play with them, there are times when you can't because the cat isn't in a good mood
even when the cat likes you, he'll still bite you
you can tell them hundred of times not to eat your birdie/fish/turtle/hamster/frog....he'll eat it at the first chance
So, my final conclusion is, they're not better or worse! You can't just say that cats are better pets because you like them more, because, that way, I'd also say that dogs are better pets, because I like them more! Saying that something is better or not is different from saying that you like something more than another!
Dogs and cats are good and bad pets on their own ways...there's no need to say which one is better or worse, because they're both just the same.

well, as i said before: i love both of them, i just PREFER cats. you don't gotta act like i was making an attack on any of em.
dogs dont ALWAYS come when they call and whatnot, and it's the same with cats. but my cat comes when you call it and i know lots of cats that do. and if you yell at any cat for doint something wrong, they know it and stop. cats sleep with you too, they just happen to be softer and less stinky and they rub against you and purr. cats lick you, too, but not often. not that i'm complaining cuz animal saliva stinks and can be gross. yah dogs DO bite, probably more than cats. and they can hurt you more. i've had plenty of dogs run away from me all the time and all the cats i've had have been indoor/outdoor. meaning i let them out whenever and they dont run away. and they follow me around outside whenever i go out there and then rub against me. you can see that cats love you, clearly.
you can teach cats things. just cuz they're not stupid enough to sit on command or do pointless things like roll over, doesn't make them "bad". (of course this is disregarding the sometimes really smart dogs that help blind people or do some really amazing trick that is useful). they ARE loyal. a cat will play with you anytime you dangle a string in it's face unless it's really tired or something. same thing with a dog and a ball or something. they're not gonna go chasing it when they're dead asleep. cats only play bite, just like dogs. and just as hard as a dog's play bite. you can't just tell a cat not to eat something when it's a natural instinct- it doesn't know english. if you told a dog not to chase or bark at a squirrel, they're not going to know any better either. they DO know tho if they're not supposed to go near a fish tank or something, just like you could teach a dog to stay away from it.
so, in conclusion: i am just stating my OPINIONS. i'm not saying that i have 100% scientifically proven studies that say cats are better. of course i'm not- people are always going to have different opinions. so just cuz i'm stating why i personally like cats more than dogs doesn't mean i'm some dog hating person trying to make anyone who likes a dog feel bad.
There might have been a few misunderstandings
My dog always used to come when I would call him, and so do my neighbor's dogs. I used to have cats too before, and they didn't come everytime I called them. And when they came, they just stayed for a few seconds, and then go away, and my dog always stayed next to me, jumping on me or doing silly things, but never going away.
Cats are indeed softer, and DEFINITELY less stinky
(personally, I don't think animals saliva is gross, I love when they - both dogs and cats - lick my hands...but I do wash my hands after that )
I don't agree that dogs bite you more than cats. I have one only scar made by my dog, and lots of scars made by my cats. My cats have bite me many times, and I reeeaally don't like their claws, they've bite or scratched me on the worst places, I have a scar on my arm that is right next to a vein, my cat also sticked on my neck with his claws, and he also almost hit my eye once with his claws. The only time that my dog really hurt me was when we were playing tag (I was 8, or something like it) and he was running after me, and for some reason he bite me on my neck and left me a tiiiny little scar.
Dogs can be worse than cats, and even kill someone, but they only do it if you teach them to do it!
Your situation with cats and dogs is exactly the contrary of mine Dogs never run away from me, and cats just seem to don't like me that much
When I said that you couldn't teach a cat something, I meant that it's extremely hard to do it, unless you know very well a cat, and also how it reacts to some things. It has much to do with the fact that cats are not as loyal as dogs are to their owners.
I know that you are only stating your opinions I just got a little sad because you only mentioned dog's bad side... I love dogs, and I agree that they are bad in some certain ways, but they are also very good pets...that's all I wanted ta say, and I also didn't say many bad things about cats, because I do like cats too, and I don't think that cats are very bad pets either In fact, cats can be really lovely!
And just another little thingy that I forgot to mention on the other post:
Your cat is adorable!!! I love the last pic where he's stretching

I think you're right about that cats can bite as much as dogs do, Cats also have one powerfull weapon dogs don't have, the claws!
One time i was scratched in my face by a cat! It just wanted to play though... (It tried to grab my nose )
well yeah, i agree lots of dogs do come when you call them and do all that stuff. i'm not trying to LABEL any pet. i'm just saying- i've had cats come when you call them and that don't run away and that don't attack and that know when not do things, just like your dogs have. and my dogs, too. also was pointing out that some of my dogs ran away as well. but still with the good and bad of all of it, i was saying i prefer cats. and okay if you like dogs more, good for you. guess we'll just have to differ
This is My Doggy. She's a mutt, but I lover her. It's a cell phone pic so it's not that good. She's Really old for a dog. I've had her for about 15 years.
