sorry to hear that SwimGirl,
i'd be cautious of your friends needs and be there like anyone would do. I don't think there's much someone can do in these situations as it will affect different people in a different way.

the sad thing is, is that the one who committed suicide really doesnt have a family. his mom did the same in september and is father is in jail and his lil brother (i think) is living with their step-mom who doesnt really want them...

OMG, Swim Girl....I'm so VERY, VERY sorry to hear of this.
My condolences go out to you, your best friend, the boy and his family.
I have very little to add to what Crimson, Jack, and Mistery have posted, as they have all given really great advice. Being there for her, and listening and hugging, etc, is very important right now. I really hope that you two can find strength in eachother and your families during this time. I so wish I could help you all, but for now, I'm only a PM away if you need someone to listen or to talk to. I'm here for you.

My condolence for this tragical event, I'm very sorry to hear that. And I can imagine how bad your friend feels right now.
As Crimson and jack have already mentioned, in such cases words often cannot help, or even make it worse. We tend to try to make our friends who are suffering to feel better, and cheer them up, but this is not what they need. It is very important to be there, to listen, to hug, to hold hands and cry together etc. - just what you both feel like. This often helps much more than words.
And I also tend to say that in this case a professional counseling might be a good idea - but don't put pressure on your friend with this either.
And hopefully there are also other persons apart from you who care, and who will listen and be there.

She knows I am here for her and she knows that I always have been. Ive been best friends with her since kindergarten. Its just so hard, every day she would be texting him in the morning and laughing and telling me what she said and how he reacted. They were perfect for each other too. And what makes it even harder is that her cousin just did the same not too long ago also. So she was ‘hit’ practically twice. i know the pain wont go quickly i just wish it would be easier to cope with. and im not trying to cheer her up per say, im just trying to get her to think of the good times they shared...

That is terrible. My condolences go to you and your friend. I can't imagine how you and your friend must be feeling. I wish there was some helpful words that I could give you, but I don't think anything will make the pain go away quickly. I would just suggest that you and your friend be there for each other. There is nothing that can help you deal with tragedy better than someone to lean on. Talk to your families, talk to a therapist, talk to anybody that can help you vent your grief. Most of all make sure your friend knows its not her fault and be there for her when she needs you. The pain will not go away quickly, but knowing there is somebody there for you makes a big difference.

Oh, Swimgirl... I'm so sorry.
My cousin committed suicide several years ago, and though it affects everyone differently, I can understand some of the grief and pain you and your friend must be experiencing. Because of the circumstances, your friend may wish to seek counseling to help her deal with the guilt that came with his death. I don't have any words that will necessarily make you or her feel better, but know that I send my deepest regrets.
One idea--I wouldn't try to cheer her up right now. She probably doesn't want to feel happy or positive right now, and that's a normal part of the grieving process. Just continue to be there for her... you don't necessarily have to say anything, but just lend her a shoulder to cry on.

Today was a bad day
bad day today...
Bad things for this day today....
First at school I tripped in public and fell on my arm!
That hurt alot!
Then I got a C on my music test
And then when I came home I had no Internet
For an whole hour and a half!
Doesn't sound bad but it IS! I missed a cool party on Club Penguin!
And on top of that when my mom came home she nagged me cuz I left Garfield in the kitchen accidentally and he ate some food left on the table!

[QUOTE=Ryuzaki;624949]Here's proof: http://www.kittens-lair.net/cat-humor/cats-diary.html
Virgo- well i'm a guy and yeah we act stupid but seriously those guys are seriously screwed up... i have one of the most impolite, annoying, and fowl mouthed eighth grade but even they don't push girls around.
only advice is to just keep truckin...kind of like Grateful Dead: Truckin' got my chips cashed in. Keep truckin', like the do-dah man
Together, more or less in line, just keep truckin' on.
Arrows of neon and flashing marquees out on Main Street.
Chicago, New York, Detroit and it's all on the same street.
Your typical city involved in a typical daydream
Hang it up and see what tomorrow brings.
Dallas, got a soft machine; Houston, too close to New Orleans;
New York's got the ways and means; but just won't let you be, oh no.
Most of the cast that you meet on the streets speak of true love,
Most of the time they're sittin' and cryin' at home.
One of these days they know they better get goin'
Out of the door and down on the streets all alone.
Truckin', like the do-dah man. Once told me "You've got to play your hand"
Sometimes your cards ain't worth a dime, if you don't lay'em down,
Sometimes the light's all shinin' on me;
Other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurres to me What a long, strange trip it's been.
What in the world ever became of sweet Jane?
She lost her sparkle, you know she isn't the same
Livin' on reds, vitamin C, and cocaine,
All a friend can say is "Ain't it a shame?"
Truckin', up to Buffalo. Been thinkin', you got to mellow slow
Takes time, you pick a place to go, and just keep truckin' on.
Sittin' and starin' out of the hotel window.
Got a tip they're gonna kick the door in again
I'd like to get some sleep before I travel,
But if you got a warrant, I guess you're gonna come in.
Busted, down on Bourbon Street, Set up, like a bowlin' pin.
Knocked down, it get's to wearin' thin. They just won't let you be, oh no.
You're sick of hangin' around and you'd like to travel;
Get tired of travelin' and you want to settle down.
I guess they can't revoke your soul for tryin',
Get out of the door and light out and look all around.
Sometimes the light's all shinin' on me;
Other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurres to me What a long, strange trip it's been.
Truckin', I'm a goin' home. Whoa whoa baby, back where I belong,
Back home, sit down and patch my bones, and get back truckin' on.
Hey now get back truckin' home.
