  • Well actually the boy was sort of a "class joker" the teachers joked on with him and all the students loved him. It came as a huge shock to everyone and no one knows the definite truthful reason Yes, the thing thats most affected is he was fine in school yesterday, now he's not.

    • Well, rumors usually contain a part of the truth but are not the full truth. And no matter what reasons this boy had to commit suicide, it's just a tragical and sad event.
It is very difficult to deal with a young teenager killing himself, especially if it's somebody in the near surroundings of you (neighbor, school etc.). As you see also adults have problems to cope with such an incident. So you have the full right to have the feeling not knowing what to do, or how to deal with it at the moment
You said you were scared. Of what are you scared?

      • Yes, its just a tragic event. Yes, its not like i really knew him, its the fact that someone in the school hung himself. Yes, adults and teachers were crying as much as students. I wasnt scared personally, it was just really scary to see teachers, students, adults, staff crying and being upset. It was scary to see him in school yesterday and not today.

        • Oh, Clank. That's absolutely tragic. I can completely understand the wide range of emotions you're probably feeling right now. That's just so completely awful... I agree with all Mistery has said about it. Be sure to talk to teachers, counselors, parents, siblings, whomever. Don't hold in your worried, scared, sad, depressed, shocked, etc. feelings. Let 'em out. And like RBS said, hugs, friends and family members can help you cope. I feel so badly for his family, too. I can't imagine what they're going through... And you may never know the REAL reason that this boy did that. Can't believe every bit of a rumor... It's always so tragic when you hear about someone committing suicide as they so clearly felt they had no one to turn to, and nowhere to go, and nothing they could do to deal with their problems. I hope you know you always have a friend in me, and as I have said so many times before, I'm only a PM away.

            • We lost four of our classmates during my 4 years in high school, and I remember that exact feeling. The awkwardness, the saddness, the grief, and the tears. I know exactly what you mean. It's just so absolutely shocking, and you don't even know what to think, or to say, and I know I remember feeling guilty when I thought, "I'm so glad it wasn't someone I was really close to..." But then I learned I wasn't the only one having such thoughts...

              Awww...I'll save ya a seat.

              • Yes, fortunately this is something that one doesn't experience often. But as you say, everything horrible that you see on TV is different from what you experience when it happens near you.
It was scary to see that everyone, including the adults were so shocked and breaking down. But it will be also helpful to see that in a few days and weeks, people will be able to cope with it, and a somewhat normality will come back.
This shouldn't mean to forget, but to learn to live with what happened, and start to heal
I'm sure there are many people in your real life whom you can talk to about it, plus here are a few online friends who are here if you need to talk - here in this thread or by PM

                  • Yes, there are tough moments in life from time to time. But usually with time you get over them with the support of others

Oh, and I just wanted to add that if in such a horrible shocking situation everyone cries and you don't, you shouldn't feel "unnormal" - people react in shock situations differently. There is no right or wrong.
What is important is not to keep everything inside, your thoughts and fears etc., and find people to talk to

                      • Oh geez... That's so awful. I'm so sorry to hear that... I wish he would have known that most parents get mad and fight at times, yes, but it never means that they would want that to happen to their child. I wish he had felt he could talk about it with someone...

I also want to add that if you, or anyone who reads this or hears about this, feels that way, knows that the best thing to do is to talk about it if you feel like that boy did... Try that. People DO care, and DO listen, and you're not alone. Offline friends, online friends, family, counselors, a trusted teacher, ANYONE. And there are suicide hotlines here in the States, and hopefully elsewhere. That's what they're there for.

                        • Sad and so unnecessary. Does excluded from school mean the same as expelled? Or less severe such as a suspension. I am just heartwrenched that the young man made the choice he did.

                          • Reading that his dad threatened that he would leave the family, lets me guess that there have been other deeper problems around

Yes, really awful, the students in the school have posted online memorials. Yes, i agree with all the advice you've given to everyone

Excluded makes the same as expelled It was a 3 week exclusion, so it was pretty severe, and it was the third exclusion i think, the student was really popular but not neccessary behaved

Yes, i think that the problem lied in the students behaviour at school, he also had an older brother and two younger sisters..
