usb gamepad... I know I am thick

Hi

Please help. I know I am remarkably thick, bought a usb gamepad today. (cd r king) looks like a playstation one. I cannot get it to work. My netbook is picking it up as a joystick. And the CD R king driver is corrupt. I am an aged gamer and would love to play some of the retro games. PLEASE can someone help.

I have never tried such a gamepad, but from what you write, you might need the correct driver for it.
Is the type of gamepad listed here on this page? You can download the driver from the manufacturer directly if your brand is listed (scroll down to gamepad):

Mistery, thanks for the answerer. I did download that driver earlier,but that was the driver that was corrupted. Just my luck. Finally got a game pad and now it wont work.... I thought there may be another answer that I was missing.

Do you get any error message? And do you get the message that the driver is corrupted?
Can you post the exact brand/type of your gamepad?
