This thread makes me think about melody vs. lyrics. Which is most important to liking a song? I chose Ode to Joy previously because of the melody. It fascinates me that his 9th had lyrics which was blasphemous in his day.

My problem is that my "favorite songs" change over time. They get played too much by either me, or the radio stations, and I move on to a new favorite song.
Some songs I will always like, of course. Lots of stuff by REM and Journey... But currently I'm really enjoying (and singing along to 
) Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" and the Plain White Tees', "1,2, 3, 4"
