LOVIN' the pics of the snow!! We just don't get it here. Ever. Meh. When I was in Missouri I enjoyed it. Looks like fun. Stay inside by a fireplace with hot cocoa Freddie! And you too, cwulf! Burr!!!!

RC - we sent some more storms your way! Muahaha!

We've got high fog right now and are due for some rain showers (nothing much) tomorrow and the next day. Wish it were another good storm. We just had a week of storms and got 6.54 inches of rain in my area in a week! (That's a lot for our drought-stricken area.)

I'll get some pics when the sun comes out, maybe tomorrow.

It's gonna warm up,melting all our snow, which is good for the watershed, but our roads are already mudbogs, this'll make them even more fun

@Funja....Light the fire, make hot chocolate, get your camera, and read a good book or come online.

@Freddie....YAY! Love the snow. But I can imagine driving in that mud afterward is pretty crazy. Get out your four-wheel drive.

Lovely pictures! Just my type of landscape!
Over here the snow melted and we got rain which was not a good thing at all. The ground still being bitter cold the rain turned into ice as soon as it came down on it. Looked great though, everything covered in a layer of ice. Kids had a day off school and recovery vehicle drivers had a busy day towing cars out of ditches. Hope this is over soon.

                  From Yahoo

Tonight's full moon will be the biggest and brightest full moon of the year. It offers anyone with clear skies an opportunity to identify easy-to-see features on the moon.

This being the first full moon of 2010, it is also known as the wolf moon, a moniker dating back to Native American culture and the notion that hungry wolves howled at the full moon on cold winter nights. Each month brings another full moon name.

6" so far this mornin' & still comin' down, gonna be like this 'til late tomorrow.I drove to the store awhile ago (11 miles/17.6 km round trip),our beloved Santa Fe county hasn't bothered to send out the plow/sand trucks yet, probably because Byron the Moron Weatherman assured us this mornin' that we wouldn't get but an inch or 2 under 7000 feet (I live at 6800/2072 mtrs).

I can hear the conversation now:
My Town: "Hey,send the trucks out,it's bad here!!!"
Santa Fe: "But they said it wasn't going to snow that much."
My Town: "Well it did & it is!"
                      Santa Fe: "Are you sure?"

There's no love lost between us & the Capital.

lol, nvm Frantic Freddie, it's no different over here
Kids have still no school because all roads are covered in ice. The town has no sand and no salt left and nowhere where they could get some now. When you ask them why they didn't take precautions since the weatherstation predicted it, they would probably tell you : Yes, but the weatherlady was never right for our part of the country...who could anticipate that we would be affected as well ???
the official version is: we are surprised by the heavy winter...never expeceted it to last so long...hasn't been like this in 30 years...
