on level 1 i put the cherys on the x and and go to the pyramids but i just get the cherys back

Adventures in Slugland - I am really stuck !! I have been playing this game now for over 2 months and I don't know what to do next. I found the key level & I see there are doors there but if it takes a key to get to the level, then how do you open the doors ? I planted the carrott in the garden and nothing happens, I'm I doing something wrong ? Also, I found the chest & took it to the urn & it said it was already open, now what ? I love playing this game but it is driving me crazy & I would really like to finish but I need some help because I'm stuck now & do not know what to do. Please help me!
