I don’t know how much of the 14 solutions I gave are indeed unique (not motivated enough to find out, sorry).
I also don’t understand why there are 92 solutions to distinct. 92 divisible by 12 gives not a round number, what means that not every unique solution has the same number of variation.
Well, that’s it for me (related to this game). If anyone like to try to find the other 78 solutions, be my guest.
I should've checked your first 4 solutions before I said anything, Adventure But I did that now, and your first 8 are actually variations of the same unique solution. And number 10 and 11 are also variations of another unique solution. But you did manage to find 6 unique solutions all in all, any one of #1-8, #9, any one of #10-11, #12, #13 and #14.
And yes I was motivated enough to find out
As for why it's 92, each way of putting the queens on the chessboard will have 7 variations, 3 due to rotation, then 1 by mirroring the setup, and another 3 due to rotation, thus 8 in total. But some of those variations will be the same, because they're symmetrical. That's why there's only 92.
