@Adventure...ahhh, that's just it; they don't "equal" each other.

the shapes above ground from left to right are the order in which the buttons on the pad are pushed. Hence, the first shape on the left, S, is the bottom left button and that is pushed first. The second shape above ground is I the button second from on top on left and is pushed next followed by 8 the bottom right button and lastly the C which is the farthest right shape above ground is the top left button and is clicked last.

I initiated the .exe file, and it didn't load.

When you downloaded, did you choose "save" or "install"?
If you have installed it, you will find the game among your program files (START-> All Programs -> In Somnia)

If you chose "run", it should have started the installation process after downloading.
You can try to select "save", and then after it downloaded, double click the .exe file to install it. After that you'll find the game among your program files.
Well, there is music in it, and also sounds might be helpful to let you know when you have hit a button etc. Sound is not completely necessary, but without it, you might miss a lot
