Well obviously! but I have gone back over everything several times and still can't find anything. I even restarted the game thinking it may have been in the first couple of scenes that you can't get back to.

All I have is:-

Yes, that's right, but you should open your eyes when you are on your way. You don't need restart.

i have 2 items and can turn on 2 lights..now stuck! can only enter one house,no-one home at another and can not approach the other two. have tried to break into house with no-one but no good. and hints ?

There are hidden hints for 3 of the lamps, so you might have missed one hint (no need to restart as you can move within the needed area - just open your eyes).
Well, and for one of the lights you just have to figure out how to make the switch usable.
