you have to

put the lantern in the entrance of the tree and click the stone to the right and use it on the lantern, then you can go in, use the log to fill in the missing step and then you can go up, then use the rope and hook to reach the boy

you need to use the ax to chop the tree down

do you chop the tree down thats by the bridge? if so, its not working.

ok you need to

use the rope with hook with the vine, then use it on the rock under the guy stuck on the rock

you need to cut the piece of bridge off first I think you use the sharp stone

The hero is still at the bottom (under old guy) holding the reed thing. I can't get the axe to chop the tree down!

Okay, now i've rescued the boy but only have two objects left [spoiler]deer and sharp rock [spoiler]. now what?

I think you need to do things in order for other things to happen,
