Umm, just a thought, maybe it's not the player himself who goes to jail, but someone who gets incriminated by the cd you find. And if you don't find it he gets free. But it's impossible to figure out without knowing japanese...

i think if you look under a certain amount of things and DONT find the CD you get free because i did that under 20 secs and i was in a street with lights. but if you find the CD your in jail ... so i shall try again

But I have the same: going to jail or finding myself on the street. Stupid game!
