under the sofa (inside the box) and applied it to the pen. then you can unscrew the other door of the cabinet.

You

open the window and the handle to the tv cabinet is on the sill.

u have to connect the symbols with the same colours (leaf and W, bird and cross) so that there isnt a single unused tile left

Here's a walkthrough for both endings:

Zoom in on the bookshelf
Click purple book with rectangle on spine
Take diamond
Click "book" (actually videotape) on top shelf just to the left of the thin purple book
Click top of bookshelf
Take rope
Note # sign on top of blue blook
Zoom out and turn to the right
Take the picture off the fireplace
Turn to the right
Click TV cart
Zoom behind TV cart
Plug in TV
Note hint on the wall
Zoom out, then in on table
Take pen
Turn to the right
Zoom in on wall sconce (lamp)
Take hexagon from sconce
Zoom out, then left two times
Zoom in on TV
Plug videotape into TV
Note red letter O
Press play
Note order and location of dots
Eject tape
Look at tape, zoom in on left side
Enter this code into box on bottom bookshelf
Open box, take CD and hook
Note blue letter R
Zoom out and turn to the left
Zoom in on picture
Press squares in same location and order as on videotape (will show O when correct)
Note new shape & its color on picture
Zoom out, then back in on vase on floor
Combine rope and hook
Fish out wooden piece
Examine wooden piece, turns into key
Use key on front door
Zoom out and turn right
Zoom in on hook beside fireplace
Enter 1301
Take large hook
Note color of symbol on wall
Return to front door, use hook to retrieve gold key
Return to table, use gold key on lock on apple dish
Take red and blue apples and silver clock key
Examine pen
Take paper from pen and unfold
Move to the fireplace, use red apple on fire (hint from videotape)
Hold paper above lit red apple to reveal secret note
Examine blue apple
Click blue apple to eat it until seed is revealed
Move to window, use seed on fish's eye
Take triangle
Look under couch
Use clock key on silver dot on floor
Turn clock key according to secret note (R L L R L R R)
Take snips and square piece
Return to safe on bottom bookshelf
Place corresponding shapes on letters S A F E
Open safe, take coin
Note hint on back wall of safe
Using hint from behind TV, examine picture frame & turn it over
Use coin on back of picture frame
Remove picture frame stand, click white box to read "Open"
Flip picture frame again, take picture
Examine picture frame once more, click key shape to take gray key
Examine picture frame for the last time, zoom on key shape, note symbol and color
Return to table
Zoom in on bowl hinge
Use snips on hinge, click upper part of bowl to take it
Return to window
Use gray key on window lock, open window
Take blue handle from bottom right window corner
Put bowl outside to fill with rainwater
Return to fireplace, use bowl to douse fire
Using hint from safe, use large hook to move logs in fireplace
Take screwdriver head
Examine pen, remove pen cap, combine screwdriver head with pen
Return to TV, zoom in on cabinets
Attach blue handle to left door
Zoom in on screw on top of right door
Use pen/screwdriver to remove screw
Open both doors
Take cylinder from left door
Examine CD and note steps on CD (beginning with seed at top)
Turn on computer, place CD into computer, close CD drive
Examine picture from picture frame, turn over
Note from back of picture that all squares must be used
Zoom to TV screen
Click CD icon
Connect similarly-colored objects (cross to Aztec symbol, w to leaf, # to Apple logo)
Play video
Go back to fireplace, staircase has lowered from chimney
TO END GAME HERE (not the true ending): Go up stairs and out window at the top.

Zoom once on staircase, note letters
Click grate inside chimney
Use snips on wire
Return to TV, click CD icon and rewind to raise staircase
Take bag from fireplace
Return to window
Put cylinder over fish
Open window and fill bowl with rain
Pour rain into cylinder, seed falls off
Use bag on cylinder, dirt pours in
Examine bag, take sun key
Use sun key in door above window
Lower sun
Note word on wall
Look under couch, turn clock key using clue from stairs (R L L L R L R)
Take battery
Examine battery, note yellow letter D
Examine picture frame, use battery in picture frame
Look at front of picture, note time
Return to TV, open Secret_file.txt
For ID, finish spelling word "identity" from wall beside window: ENTITY
For password, look at paper and use colored letters from around the room
Green W red O blue R yellow D: WORD
Take new code and use on box on bookshelf, ignoring third symbol: * IIV o v
Take bottle of plant food
Use on plant
Turn around one complete time
Plant is much larger and touching the floor
Zoom to spot on floor plant is touching
Press green square to open panel, then press red button
Return to wall picture frame and pull handle on left edge
Use coin and snips in spaces above
Input time into space below
Shapes are the empty spaces around numbers - 1 is a large solid block, etc
When solved, take red sword
Return to door, use sword on chain
Zoom out of door, open door
Go down hall, click through many screens, wish you could read Japanese

Whoa, I just made some more progress. The plant is HUGE now!

I finished with the "wrong" ending.
Now I'm tempted to go back and try to get the "correct" ending since you posted a walkthrough Nin Man.
That was the best P&C game I've played recently! It was difficult, but I only used hints a couple of times.
