Can't possible figure out the code for the red machine. What about the pi sign (3,141592654) on the pipe, the numbers of the red machine and the numbers above the exit? What is their connection? Can anyone give me a good hint for this, please?

Im in the basement. Im not englisch so i dont understand the walkthrough a 100%.
This;
Look at the grey boxes above the exit sign, and compare those to the ones on the red box.
I understand it, but to compare?? Dunno..
And;
Put the value of "pi" in the grey boxes, and you'll see that the 10th grey box is actually the 9th decimal place in the value of "pi".
