If you have inserted the dvd and placed paper in the printer, then click any key on the keybourd in the cupboard and it should print.

Walkthrough

Walkthrough (tab key is very useful):

Click right edge of game screen to enter 2nd room.
Click 2nd book on shelf (green) and turn pages until you get DVD.
Click between cabinet and right wall to get screwdriver.
Click on top drawer of cabinet to get paper (you use screwdriver).
Click between left wall and bookshelf to zoom in and see hint (Mountain Valley).
Don't zoom out but click next to bookshelf to get knife. Zoom out.
Click between bookshelf and cabinet, click on wall part (you use knife) to get golden key.
Click vase on cabinet to get red key.
Click printer to insert paper.
Click brown cat urine on bottom of the shelf (important for next step!)
Click box of tissue paper on shelf to get blue key.
Click doors of cabinet, click green button, insert DVD into pc and hit a key on keyboard in game to print out paper. Click paper to see hint.
Click on dark green/brownish book in the middle to see hint.
Go to left room again, click top drawer to get hammer (though useless, I don't know if you have to do it or not)
Click bottom drawer to find puzzle (quoting tempus 42, thanx for that!):
The clue on the wall and the paper airplane book tells you that the dashed line means "mountain" and the dotted line means "valley". The paper in the printer has 6 lines matching the 6 columns in the puzzle. For the columns marked "mountain", leave the slider up. For the columns marked "valley", click the slider to push it down. Now read the 11 digits out of the little windows, following the back and forth pattern shown by the snake on the paper in the printer. This gives the number 28174609484.
Turn to 2nd room again and click left part of shelf where the books are. Enter this code into the box and click the red button. You should be able to take it (is it a brush?) from there.
Turn to first room again, click on your last item, it starts to move. Click on it and the cat will go away. You can open the door and you're free.

Also, I still had to conk the kitty with the hammer to get it to go after the floating toy!

I can click between the bookcase and cabinet to see wire and see where you need the knife to cut wall but I am confused about you where to click to get the knife and the Mountain Valley clue - on the left side of bookcase (closet?). I keep trying and zooming in that but nothing happens

Yeah, sorry I meant the bookshelf (I updated my walkthrough).

Zoom in by clicking between bookshelf and wall and then use tab key to find the spot to click (it's next to the bookshelf where you see the line between wall and floor). There you get the knife. You need the knife to cut the wall between bookshelf and cabinet.
