I am really stuck. Got

pencil, colored knob thing, card (used), and monkey head (used)

Tabbed all over can find nothing else. Can't do anything at all with colors box. Is there a way to view items in inventory?

combining something with the pencil

How do you combine?

if you double click on the pencil, it will examine it, then click near the top of the pencil to get to a different view, then click on the item you want to combine it with, then click back on the pencil.

Wow, I must really be dumb today! All I found was

a colorful knob and can't change colors on the color box to what's on the railing thing that pulls out

and that's it!
