I'm not sure, but, I think that the symbols may vary by player. The third symbol comes from the bathroom note. For that one it is just a rotation of the symbol that is the next one in the sequence. Once I got that one a just brute forced the first two until I got the door key. Sorry can't be more helpful. Maybe someone else can.

count how many distinct objects there are per item in the clue
1st item has one distinct object. The second item has 2. The third item has... Therefore the item you are to determine has ? many distinct objects
6. So look for a symbol with six distinct objects. It kinda looks like a flower
I brute forced second symbol.
count the number of rotations between each symbol. Don't forget there are rotations for 90 degrees AND 45 degrees
There are 5 rotations so the symbol will be on a 45 degree angle with the small bulb on the top left side of the line
Please give a hint about the broken key
