I don't understand what I'm supposed to do, or what the purpose of the shoe is.

if you watch the film they use the shoe to check if the next cube is trapped e.g

they throw a shoe in it gets covered in deadly deadly acid that melts it then they know not to go in there

I really don't get what I am supposed to do. I mapped out a 4 x 4 area and been all over it. There seems to be nothing in it other than the diary and the rooms that kill you.

Does anyone what the point of the numbers are? None of the numbers over the doors match the numbers in the diaries.

I am so lost, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I must still be missing something. I am going round and round in circles. I drew myself a map and labeled each door with the numbers, but they don't mean anything to me.

Is there an exit somewhere?
