Found missing item - read clue to code. I was confused for awhile but finially a light bulb came on.

I usually get thru the whole game and get stumped with the code, but that was the easiest code yet...

the tops blue, yellow & red (assumably missing green?) used pencil, cutter, and crowbar...

Duh, forgot about the 'coded' safe! Out w/out help But the gruel tasted like yuck!
