To turn the fire on

press button 1 and 2 then turn the power on. Then press button 3 then turn power off. Then press button 2 turn the power on and press button 1

sorry- misread your question- according to the walkthrough you have to turn the fire off before you can put the grate on it to roast the nuts...

Well the fire is already off. After clicking the buttons in the order I have mentioned above the fire will turn on.
