I haven't played this one yet.
However, OscarW posted a walkthrough, to which I have added a link in the first post of this thread.

There it says concerning Phred

Go through the dialogue, feel a little guilty for lying to your friend so you can kill him, then click on the BROKEN TILE.

theres a hidden door in smileys room: go to the right wall and try to find the words: "hidden door"

go under the bed and take the coin then, goto the vent and use the coin on all 3 of the screws and pick them up and go through the vent

and if anyone is stuck on Phred's dream

click on Mr. Munch's note then ask Phred if he wants your coat. then click the thermo and ask him for the coat again, then he'll put the coat on "A few minutes later" click anywhere and Phred will die

the walkthrough mentions the invisibility cloak....where is it?!??!?!? I have done the grid thing and gotten the code, which should have activated the invisibility cloak generator, but I don't see where that is

nvm - I did not complete the code...not all numbers were activated, I must have hit a wrong button somewhere.

Stuck on the tile device. Got the middle 2 but the 1st and 4th aren't working yet.

That was a long one. Needed Oscar's walkthrough sometimes but other then that it was a very nice game again.
