You have to use your item on 2 diffrent places.

on the front of the machine in door view

remove calendar with scissors, turn of light and then you see a clue you have to use in the view with the clock.

Used scissors to cut the calendar down, turned off lights and saw the clue. But the calendar is back up

Not a bug... it was I that re-hung the calendar.
