That's a brush, which you used for the code. Didn't find another use for it.

Look at the box with spots and click the colours as per the clue

Use the brush on the wall in the view with the box with all the dots. And use it on the whole wall. This gives colors and numbers which is the code.

I have already revealed the code hint, but I don't get it.
And the brush is still in my inventory

Thanks Mistery, I had tried that. I finally ended up removing my cursor between clicks, and it worked.
