the puzzle in the fridge?

I am so stuck. I have only found 1 item and no clue on

fridge puzzle

I have solved the fridge puzzle:

it has to do with the tree

Let me know if you need help with the key once you've solved the fridge puzzle.

I'm stuck on the

slice of cheese, brandy, brandy glass, how to get that last piece of jewelry off the boat and toothpick

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I just don't see how

the fridge puzzle and the palm tree relate

I'm going to give this another try.

So I'm back near the start with a letter, mallet, earing, cosmetic bag, cheese, oven glove, brandy, glass, knife and champagne I'm now going to try that fridge puzzle.

edit...That's strange, the puzzle has different colours than the last time I tried it?

turning every leaf around

When I click on the palm tree leaves, nothing moves. Perhaps you have to do things in a certain order

Progress

Put earing into cosmetic bag and now I can move leaves on tree

Oh how annoying I had just solved the fridge puzzle and then I accidently closed the game.

Just completed fridge puzzle (different colours and shape from last time) and now have key

In these games, if you inventory is full, you can't take anything more, so you have to put things back.

Melted ice off of key, found smoking pipe in basement. Have no idea what to do next.

Did you use the pipe and the champagne? and where did you find the toothpick?

I threw the champagne out the window but that didn't seem to do anything *grmbl*

Still stuck on toothpick, slice of cheese, boat and brandy.
