i have found nine buttons now how do i make them change colour - i press them and nada

The colors are on the stool when you click lower part of door scene, not the note.

i know about the box and the button under the stool - but how do i actually make the buttons start to change colour - im clicking on them and nothing - they just stay grey

Oh, the buttons don't change color, they change the colors on the box. You have to match them to the note. It made me dizzy
