Stuck on the last code

Seems like it should be

3-1-2 or 8-5-1

...i'm missing something.

I'm thinking it has to do with first page of book

got stuck there too after getting frustrated about it found solution on other site

the code you find under the last box means ,(red)L 5 ,go back 5 times left on the clock ,what before was 8 becomes 3,
(yellow)R6 ,go further to the right 6 times ,you get 7 etc

I'm on safe. Have 5 items, used 3 & 4 (they are dark). Presume item mentioned above is in the safe ..
Now have a 4 diget # that doesn't work ?yet? thanks to item found.

found book and used cut out on page 1, page 2 I used paper with 3 colors green yellow red. I noted where each ended and get a 3 diget number.

Need to find a snack .. break time!
EDIT: see where I messed up on 4# code - so that done. But see no clue under that item. Just the need for a 3# code.

think that has to do with rungs covered and where you end up (left or right) compared to where you started. bottom are G Y R for me. G uses 6 rungs and ends up 3rd place. So it moved right. What I came up with didn't work - miss counted? wrong orders?

Anyway I'm hanging up on this one.

to turn over the pink box by clicking the box right below on the mark ,and use the cutter twice

There is only one view in which you have to do everything. Some things are tricky but otherwise it's a nice game.
