Me too, I found the logic for it after I was already out. Not something I ever would have gotten on my own, I don't think.

Have

3 cylinders with numbers 2,8,9. Paper with letters on it (word "capitalistic" behind Moon Picture seems to form a "9" shape in the upper right corner of paper.)

what seems to be the order for the numbers found on the cylinders just don't know where that goes either

Stuck...how does one "brute force" something?

Just found "scandinavia" on the left side of the little bookshelf that forms a 2 on the letter paper

I have what you have MADmommy, plus I found the word economically in the letter grid, but not in the room. It forms the number 6.
Finally out, but had to brute force the first safe. I still don't know why the combination was what it was.

after opening the safe, turn off light and look around

Notice the colors of the words 'cause you're gonna need them.
The rest is simple

Use the long number on the 'desk' that contains the 3 symbols (3 x 56 O 52 ^) and look at the number of squares in the columns of the tree.

Completely darken the boxes that form the words to get the right number
