but that happens every 4 years, not 3. 25 and 28 are only 3 years apart. I've tried

feb 29 for the bday and several March dates for the day he can say that...march 2, march 3

I don't necessarily get it either , but, the dates that worked for me were:

December 31 and January 1

Let's say the 26th birthday's is on Dec 31st 2010, he's speaking on Jan 1st 2011. So the day before yesterday was Dec 30th and he was still 25. But because he's speaking in January, it's already 2011, and the next year is 2012, when he'll be 28.

Makes sense, no? I'm not very good at explaining thing.
