Combined them and added shape thing on top. Now see 3 different numbers.

Ha ! Was just gonna tell YOU that

Cracked the "shape thing" code, and got in drawer

Put the 3 'chunks' of numbers together to form a 3 x 3 grid.

Now I think we have a language barrier

Have one shape. And know I won't get far since I've been warned by don way up in cold Chicago.
now 3 shapes .. and tried 6 different sets of numbers to get in drawer. Maybe misread? and 2 others .. none worked. backwards?
and I don't know the characters in the cabinet to the left.
will pass - and our furry child is saying "I need to go out back" so that is where I am headed.

Aha! I'm getting somewhere...
As don says,

if you take the repaired paper and put the beige shape over it, you see 3 groups of numbers, which need to be arranged into a 3x3 area

remember the 3x3 picture next to the door..

L, C, R are the positions of numbers to use from your paper

...

The code is 980

Now I get some japanese characters in the drawer, and the computer image has changed - more japanese =(

Found safe under couch, got an item and used on machine under computer and now I'm stuck.

Okay, giving up. It looks like I need to see something in a drawer but I don't see anything.
