Made a lot of progress, but stuck now with

This was a very hard game and I needed a lot of help.

totally stuck...I have

lighter, screwdriver(used once), paper with x's, a knife, a putty knife, and a ball with numbers inside

i tried everything....ugh

i found

when you move the papers and green book off the desk and hold the lighter up to the desk, it's a clue for the power...

but i don't know what to do with it

I am completely stuck...I have

a green ball with a 1 on it that has the number 2431 inside, a screwdriver that I used once to open the cover of the furnace, a paper with x's, and a lighter

I have no clue how to

work the handles on the power switches, and can't seem to get the furnace turned off

so far, all I have managed to do is

find a green button in the bottom drawer under the power switches, which I placed in the spot on the right corner of the furnace, used the putty knife and the scalpel on the word "curse" on the wall to reveal a safe which does not seem to take the numbers from the green ball, took the nozzle off the pipe on the left and placed it on the pipe on the right but turning it does not affect the furnace, used the needle to open the green ball, used the things that aren't scissors but look like scissors to get the paper with x's out of the skeleton's eye and used the lighter on the table to get the clues that I can't seem to decipher

not sure if the bugs are completely out of this game or not...at this point I have clicked on every available area and tried every item in every clickable spot...I'm giving up...
