My first step was

on top of the barber pole,

and was obvious. I'm stuck on the R, B, W step after that.

edit NVM! got it!

go in order of alphabet

start right for G, I=Right, R=Right, L=Left, F=Left, E=Left, H=RIght, F=Left

or maybe not...

Maybe its the letters in Right and Left to let you know which way to go

but It worked the other way anyway

Hi Sue! I think you made the same mistake I was making.

Rather than clicking the number in order. Click each square on your way to the next number. You should have turned all the squares grey by the end

Solutions diagrams

Being a simple guy I often need it spelled out - and pictures really help:

using grid from door mat, draw a line to connect the numbers - follow this order when clicking sqaures in puzzle

first hit striped butten under code then look at the barber's pole and use the new letters that appear on it

Using clue from shop window cut each image and paste so the symbols match (like dominos) forming letter

Match the given letters to the words 'right & 'left' in order to indicate which way to turn the dial

Combine the word clue from the shop door with the number clue at the puzzle identify the 4 letter to use
