I was almost finished, but I lost my sword and couldn't pick up anything because it said i still had something in my hand....so close

That happened to me, I think I clicked where the sword was in the inventory, and it appeared. Good Luck

The location of the spiders are

1. behind the rock in the first scene. click on the left rock.
2. beside stove. you need to light it to make it fall down.
3. left of the chest.
