Don't understand the code for the cupboard :/

Hang the macrame on the door hook, then look where the knots lean: left or right -> go with that clue to the cupboard!

Once solved the macrame puzzle, the rest was easy...

Macrame was hiding in my inventory for awhile before I saw it there. After you hang it on the door, then think of it as a sequence of five lefts or rights.
