OMG, how stupid of me. Took forever to realize

that the four pieces had to go on the desk with the lamp

Just as a fair warning: it seems this game might be slightly glitchy, in that certain puzzles can't be solved (even if you have all the information required to solve them) until you solve certain others, first.

And I don't just mean when the game kindly says "I have no idea how to solve this!" meaning that you haven't found the proper clues yet. I mean even after I found the clues, it just wouldn't let me solve them.

i.e.:

It wouldn't let me solve the picture puzzle (even though I had all the clues necessary to do it) until I opened the top left hand drawer under the bookshelf; it wouldn't let me open the drawer beneath the water glass until I solved the picture puzzle. Nothing changed in the way I attempted to complete these puzzles--they would just fail to yield any results unless I went and solved other puzzles, first. This appears to be a glitch.

If anyone else experiences this problem, just try going and figuring something else out, first. It worked in the end.

You follow the arrows, starting at the bottom left. Up one, right three, down one, left two, up three, etc.

But I can not get it open, so maybe there is something to solving the puzzles in order
