Hmm, found pick axe (used it), got rock, found bag, cup and clue.
Opened locker and got a hammer, used hammer, got key, used key, got barrel.
And now it looks like I am stuck.

edit: progress! Used barrel

on the crack in the wall behind barrel in the room (how so odd?)

and now I have a screwdriver and 2nd clue.

edit: found third clue

circle hint is in the locker

Stuck with the 3 clues and robot directions. I feel like I am missing something obvious.

Got it thanks to a hint from catalina.

Look in the book and find the page with the robot that has a double lines head. Click it - the double head is in fact a folded paper.
