I had wondered about if it would be possible to just escape without shooting the monster, but I guess I never really thought it would be, because I never tried it out

I shot the moster, was I supposed to get the spade? If so, I didn't

I found the spade, and i used it on each hole, there is no map. On the hole that is near the book case, it says that I hit a rock...What does that mean?

It is in the middle whole (that is a semi quote from Adventure) Use the spade though to get it!
