I cannot get the letter puzzle...I unscrambled, thought I knew the 'joins' and 'order' but I can't seem to do it...

2 vertical, 3 vertical, 4 horizontal, 1 vertical, 5 vertical....place in column as per addition across.

Hint for letters puzzle

The answers to the letter puzzle are opposites.

Look at prime factorization.

Remember, a number to the zeroth power is one. Replace each element in sample arrays with prime factorization. For example, 3 = 2 to zeroth power, times 3 to first power, times 5 to zeroth power. Examine exponents column by column. In first sample array, 2 and 30 map onto 100 and 111. Twenty and 3 map onto 201 and 010. Adding the triples gives 211 and 211. The third column does the same. The exponents in the second sample array sum to 211 in each column. Applying this to the 3 x 3 array, the first column's exponents are 000, (2, 3, and 5 to zeroth power) 210, and 201. Summing them gives 411. To solve, exponents in second and third columns must sum to 411. First triple in second column is 011, (2 to zeroth power, 3 and 5 to first power). To get 411, need to add 400, which is 4 and 4 (2 to second power) or 2 and 8 (2 to first and 2 to third power). There are no repeated entries in sample arrays, so assume that elements must be unique in 3 x 3 array. Second column is either 15, 2, 8 or 15, 8, 2. For third column, 10 yields triple 101 (2 and 5 to first power, 3 to zeroth power). Need to add 310 to make 411. One possibility is 3 and 8 (2 to third power), but there is already an 8 in second column. If all elements must be unique, the possible multiples of two are 2 and 4, one of which is multiplied by 3, yielding 6 and 4 or 2 and 12. Since the range of elements in each solution cell is zero to 9, 2 and 12 are out. The third column is either 10, 4, 6 or 10, 6, 4. Tweak the four possibilities for the contents of the two columns until the puzzle is solved.
