Stuck
Zoomed out view shows me the tube with green liquid on the fire thingy but when I zoom in, I can't get it that way too work

I'm stuck. I assume I'm supposed to hold a plate of some kind up to the fumes to get the elevator code to condense on them, but I can't find any other manipulable objects.
