Color dots puzzle is not working, must be doing something wrong

Okay, card is not very correct with the 17, should be 20
Got it now but had to look for help and even then I was still very confused but finally something clicked in my head and I figured it out

count corners of the figures on the card

click as many times on the dots as there are corners

yellow one has 7 corners

Got green box open now, solving the dots gave me the number for that one

Got the door open but with help because I really am not seeing that one. Even now that I know the answer I am still not seeing it.

I needed a couple nudges (door codes) from EG24. Math and I never did get along!! Very nice game though! Loved the music--very sad dedication.

Found magnet, coloured arrow...solved grid, have ladder and now have weight.
Opened colour combo and now have pass card and rope.
Joined items and now have green box.
Could not figure out coloured dots....saw Yvonne's clue (thanks!) but I was using wrong card.

Y=7, G=6, B=4, R=3

Using arrow card; count # of corners per colour...in 'card' colour order press each dot as per corner count.

Received 4 digit code from dots...opened green box, and now have fuse and key.
Placed fuse. Used pass card, and code as per pass card to enter combo and in next room.

Using numbers over dots enter as per colour order on card, then 17.

I see the next room's clue...I know the game and the men, but it didn't work....
Took card and thanks to EG24 was able to get fuse into room#2.

Attached to weight, replace and put weight above, through window...pull from room#2.

I give up....I have tried every thing I can think of from the chess clues, even in reverse, and I can't get it. Good night....
