Is there any logic to the colored squares?

yes there is ,you alway's need to form a hook 90° to remove them

Not really, adjacent squares can be removed

Edit:

The panel of color, erase by selecting the panel of the same color.
You can delete that the panels tied with a straight line or refracted once line
and other panels are not exist on the line.

Can I get a translation?

This had me confused also, Tipper. But you can "erase" any two like colors as long as they connect via a straight line or a 90 degree angle. Keep in mind the black squares are "blockers."

The orange pieces are causing me grief in this one.
